A memorable school trip: The CatchPixel experience
“Where should we take the class on a field trip this year?” – a question that becomes a real challenge for teachers and parents every spring or autumn. Kids want something fun and active, teachers need something safe and meaningful, and everyone together is looking for a place that creates memories to last.
In the center of Riga, at Raiņa Boulevard 17, there is a place that combines all these criteria – the interactive entertainment park CatchPixel. This is not your usual museum stop or nature trail walk. Here, students become the heroes of the game, and everything happens in motion.
How does it work?
Upon entering CatchPixel, children are greeted by a spacious hall with a digital floor that reacts to every step, jump, or touch. No controllers, no phones, no tablets – just them and their movement.
There are more than 30 games, each offering a new challenge: in one you have to run along a virtual track, in another you need to work as a team to collect points, and in yet another you test your reaction speed and creativity.
Why do students love it?
- because finally, on a field trip, they can move and run around;
- because there’s no “boring watching” – everyone is involved;
- because the games are colorful and fun, yet challenging enough even for older kids.
And teachers?
They say just one word – peace.
CatchPixel’s premises are safe, easy to oversee, equipped with a cloakroom and a relaxation area. While the kids are having fun, teachers can enjoy a coffee and watch from the sidelines. At the same time, they see that this experience is not just a game – it trains teamwork, reaction, and communication skills.
How to plan?
Usually, the class is divided into teams – up to 8 students play at the same time, while the others cheer for their team. Then the groups rotate, keeping the excitement going for the whole session.
A standard visit lasts 55 minutes, but for larger classes it is recommended to choose the 115-minute program.
